UXO Survey

Image

Unexploded Ordnance detection is frequently required during the planning stages in marine operations, such as dredging.

We use our G882 Marine Magnetometer for these surveys

UXO surveys cover the detection, the localisaton and characterisation of objects, mainly metallic ones, buried in the ground or present on the seabed and that may correspond to unexploded ordnance.

Here are some examples of UXO:

  • Bombs: High-explosive bombs, including those dropped from aircraft.
  • Shells: Artillery shells, including those used in anti-aircraft defense.
  • Grenades: Cylindrical or canister-shaped grenades, including those with time-delay mechanisms.
  • Landmines: Anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.
  • Rockets: Rockets containing explosive warheads, such as anti-tank weapons.
  • Mortars: Mortars, which can be high-explosive or carry smoke, incendiary, or pyrotechnic payloads.
  • Small Arms Ammunition: Bullets or rounds that did not explode as intended.
  • Projectiles: Projectiles of varying sizes, including high-explosive, shot, or carrier types.
